S and I watched the Super Bowl a few weeks ago at our friends’ home in Mira Mesa. After the disappointingly uneventful game, we all wanted some dinner to cheer us up… even though there were plenty of snacks during the game. Haha. Anyway, our friend suggested Pho Ban Mai, which is pretty close to where we were. In particular, he recommended us to try the lemongrass beef noodle soup (bun bo hue). So, off we went.
I’ve always passed by this place without a second glance… But once I stepped in, I was (sort of) pleasantly surprised at how nice and spacious the place was. I don’t know why but I didn’t have a great impression of restaurants in this plaza… Then again, it’s been quite a while since I’ve eaten around here.
We dutifully ordered the Bun Bo Hue. Actually, there were about nine of us dining together that night, and thanks to our one friend’s suggestion, almost all of us ordered the same thing. My blogger self was cringing at the lack of variety…
